I became a dietitian, in part, because my grandfather was a family physician and my parents worked in the mental health field. I was drawn to both fields and found nutrition to be a great combination of the two.
I am a registered dietitian and hold a MS in Human Nutrition from Drexel University. I trained in a sports nutrition clinic, a spine and head injury hospital, and as a graduate research assistant. I have worked as a research dietitian at Duke University Medical Center, focusing on strength and longevity through nutrition and movement. I am also the Head of Nutrition at Vivo, a resistance training program for adults over 60 (or anyone who needs an online strength training option!). At Fork Nutrition Counseling and Vivo, I guide individuals in nutrition assessments and long term goals.
I have extensive experience in nutrition counseling and education for adults of all ages. I primarily work with adults in the LGBTQ2S+ community, though my door is open to all. I am sensitive to sensory needs, nutrition “quirks”, and other neurodivergent-esque nutrition qualities.
My hope is to address and resolve barriers to a positive relationship with food. I take a weight neutral approach, which means I will not direct you or expect you to strive to lose weight. People come in all sorts of shapes and sizes which do not predetermine your health. I do my best to treat each client with dignity, and provide a treatment plan that promotes your personal goals for nutrition. I will provide a safe space to discuss fatness, internalized fatphobia, or other challenging nutrition/body topics.
My approach is to help you take charge of your nutrition-related individual health needs using evidence-based nutrition therapy. I focus on you, as an individual, customizing programs to fit your lifestyle.
In an age of information overload, where news reports, opinions, and trends can be overwhelming, I will help you prioritize your nutrition concerns and dispel food myths.
